KEY EVENTS IN APRIL AND PROPAGANDA REACTIONS BelarusPropaganda plays an important role in maintaining a system of social control in Belarus.

The ideological lines of the Lukashenka regime in the 1st quarter of 2026 The following main lines can be identified in Lukashenka’s propaganda.

SUMMARYPropaganda sees its role as supporting the Belarusian government in maintaining political stability and seeks to fulfill this role by addressing three objectives: 1) promoting the image of Belarus as a peaceful and prosperous country; 2) strengthening the “cult of personality” of Lukashenka as the sole and irreplaceable leader; 3) uniting society against internal and external threats.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS FOR FEBRUARY 2026 The operations, targets, and ideological lines of Minsk’s propaganda media fall into two broad categories: the “domestic” and the “foreign” fronts.

SUMMARYBELARUSIn January, propaganda enthusiastically discussed Donald Trump’s invitation to Vladimir Putin and Aliaksandr Lukashenka to join the “Board of Peace.” Pro-government channels continue to strengthen the image of Lukashenka as a “peacemaker” who is holding Belarus back from falling into the abyss of wars and conflicts.
