Operation «Safe Podlasie»
On August 1, the operation of the Polish Army «Safe Podlasie», aimed at ensuring the protection of the border with Belarus, started. As part of the operation, the number of servicemen in the border area is increased to 17,000, about 8,000 of whom will serve on the border, while 9,000 will be in reserve.
As noted in the «Major Payne» Telegram channel, with the start of the operation, «the risk of escalation in the border area is increasing, up to and including armed conflict», and the country’s military leadership «once again sounded militaristic slogans and intentions to rattle weapons near the eastern borders». It was emphasized that the situation «will lead to more casualties and deaths at the border among refugees».
Migrants
The topic of the migration crisis continues to be on the agenda. At the moment, the Polish prosecutor’s office is investigating 10 criminal cases of abuse of power by servicemen at the border. However, according to Telegram channel «Nevolfovich», the reports of Belarus border guards show ten times more such offenses, and with these investigations «the Warsaw regime once again throws a bone to local citizens in the form of human rights activists and concerned citizens that they are allegedly on the side of refugees».
At the same time, the authors of the propaganda media drew attention to the concerns about the border violence of Polish human rights activists, who «call on international organizations, European governments, the public and the media to put pressure on the Polish authorities». Among the abuses of the Polish side, the following are cited: «illegal returns of migrants at the border, ignoring asylum requests and other serious human rights violations».
At the same time, pro-regime telegraph channels remind at every opportunity of the recent adoption of a law authorizing the military to use weapons when threatening the security of an individual or a country. It was emphasized, that with this decision «Polish security forces were completely unleashed to kill innocent people».
Criticism of the Polish army
The news about the dismissal of Polish General A. Jakubczyk, who was serving at NATO headquarters and was accused of committing irregularities in personnel appointments, was actively covered. In this connection, the authors of the «Nevolfovich» Telegram channel noted that «Polish generals remain ‘second class’ for NATO», and «suicidal policy to please the beneficiaries of the West is by no means a guarantee that you will be allowed to make important decisions».
They also focused on criticism of Polish Defense Minister W. Kosiniak-Kamysz in a post titled «The Warsaw regime’s duplicitous policy arouses the anger of Poles». The arguments included angry comments from social network X in connection with the minister’s participation in events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. They called W. Kosiniak-Kamysz «the most stupid politician», «bloody hypocrite», etc.
The military parade to be held on August 15 in Warsaw on the occasion of the Polish Army Day celebrations was called«a feast during the plague» by the Telegram channel «Nevolfovich«. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense is blamed for the costliness of the event and its use exclusively for militaristic purposes.
Militarization and preparation for war
Starting from September, Poland plans to introduce compulsory shooting training in schools. According to authors of the «BelVPO» Telegram channel, «the Polish regime seeks to ensure national security by militarizing and involving children in this process.
In parallel, the statement of the head of the Polish Interior Ministry T.Semoniak on the development of plans for mass evacuation of the population in case of military conflict, as well as the permission of the Ministry of Defense to seize personal cars of citizens for military drills, mobilization readiness checks and urgent call-up of reservists was criticized.
To the news about Poland receiving new LTAMDS radars from the US, which increase defense against air threats, the «Belarusian Front» Telegram channel reacted as follows: «The US is pursuing two main goals: to prepare Poland for war as much as possible and to fix the stalemate with the hole-in-the-sky Polish sky.» At the same time, commented on the forthcoming delivery of American F-35 fighters to the Polish Air Force as follows: «What is the use of this military junk if they are ineffective and the treasury has no funds to maintain their combat capability».
At the same time, the propaganda website «Military-Political Review» drew an analogy between the policies of modern Poland and Israel: «The authorities of the two countries veiledly spin the flywheel of war, creating the image of a victim, and in fact, acting as a catalyst for war. In Poland, it is the threat from the East; in Israel, it is the Palestinian issue.
NATO
War in Ukraine
Some military propaganda narratives focused on NATO’s position on the Russian-Ukrainian war. For example, a certain post in the «Belarusian Front» Telegram channel quoted the following from an article in Gazeta Wyborcza: «Almost no one at NATO headquarters in Brussels expects Ukraine to regain lost territories, but no one wants to recognize this officially. From another article of the same Polish media outlet quoted the following thought: «NATO’s military strategy helps Russia on the front», because «Despite the support, they (NATO) are doing a lot to prevent the Ukrainian side from winning».
At the same time, the topic of possible negotiations between the warring countries was raised. As noted by the Telegram channel «BelVPO», despite the fact that «NATO declared the Kremlin a threat to world democracy and was going to fight to the last Ukrainian», the West still needs negotiations. However, only for populist purposes, as «society is showing fatigue with comprehensive assistance to Ukraine». At the same time, it was emphasized: «No one is going to lose in Ukraine. It is not for nothing that NATO countries are increasing military budgets to the detriment of social and other spheres.
Escalation of the situation
NATO continues to receive accusations of provoking conflict near the borders of Belarus and Russia. In one of the posts of the Telegram channel «Nevolfovich» the following thought was emphasized: «No matter how the West justifies itself, but the actions of the neighboring countries of Belarus testify to the fact that NATO on the eastern flank wants to arrange another military conflict.
