The situation of human rights in Belarus 

On February 2, 2025, iSANS sent a submission «The application of the universal jurisdiction principle in respect of cases from Belarus» to the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.

On October 9, at the OSCE Warsaw Human Dimension Conference, iSANS held a side event “New illegal instruments of persecution of political opponents by the Lukashenka regime: incommunicado detention, repeated convictions, trials in absentia and other forms of transborder repression”.

This document is a working paper aimed at drawing attention to the growing problem of the use of transnational repression by the Lukashenka regime to suppress the voices of activists and ordinary people who were forced to leave the country as a result of persecution.
