Key changes in the education system of Belarus during the 2022-23 academic year 

Over the past five years, the development of the Belarusian education system has been defined by a number of persistent trends, including increased state control over education; standardization of the educational process; expansion of ideological and militarized components; curtailment of cooperation with European countries and a reorientation of international cooperation toward Russia and China; limited opportunities for Belarusians to obtain a European education; and repressive pressure on those who do not support the current government.
